FAQ

  • What if I'm not training for anything?

That's ok! These skills are applicable to anyone and everyone. Yes, they are racing skills but they are also skills for training...and for life!

  • How Long Will It Take?

The course has been set up to take 9 weeks with new lessons and practice activities sent weekly to help you pace the learning effectively. You automatically get 12 weeks of access the Trailhead Community so you have some extra time to get support or ask questions. You have lifetime access to the course and can always join The Trailhead long term afterward!

  • Is this for new runners or long time runners?

Veteran runners and new runners alike will benefit from this course. It provides opportunities for self reflection, to realign with goals and values, and to add tools to your toolkit--or sharpen the ones that are already there.

  • Why do runners need mental training?

You don't leave your brain at home on race day. It comes along-- in whatever shape it is in. If you have taken care of it and taught it how to support you, your brain will be an asset on race day. If you overstress it or ignore it, you risk throwing away all of that physical training you put it. A well trained brain can improve your focus, increase your capacity for stress, reduce your sensitivity to pain, increase your motivation, and help you respond instead of react to the highs and lows of race day.
